i'm choosing between the two effects (both w/ good review)
But I would like to hear it from you guys that really tried it out,..

AX3000B

---or---

BASS POD XT LIVE

---or---

BOSS GT-6B

Please advise,..

get the Bass PODxt LIVE ..

trust me .. can't go wrong with Line6 ..

i compared the Line 6 and Korg side by side at City Music and i tell you honestly, the Line 6 beat the KORG AX3000B hands down, they simpler have better modelling technology and samples and they sound more true to the orginal things they were trying to model ..

expensive though .. =)

the only working experience i have with BOSS is their pedals lah .. hahaha .. 3 knobs can't go wrong ..

but i do have friends who have owned products like the Dr Rhythm .. the highest end ones and from their experience they tell me that BOSS products are hard to use ..

i'm not sure about the floor multis though .. but BOSS is pretty famous for making things complicated .. don't trust me on that .. may just be that my friends are a little slow on getting it figured out .. go test it out for yourself to find out .. =)

line 6 being more expensive than the other two,. is it worth it?
:)

Thanks for all who responded,. it really helps,.

my personal opinion is that multi effects for bass are not worht it.

There is a tendency for multi effect users to program a different sound for different songs. Which is kind ofthe point of using multi's... but its really easy to over do it and too caught up with the effects tht you lose track of the actual idea of the song/ use effects for the sake of it.

I speak from experience having started out with a Korg AX1B and done just that!

the concept works better for guitar.

The problem is that bass is the glue that sitcks the band together, or if you like a sonic foundation. Its often the constant that helps all those guitar sounds still seem like the same band rather than a collection of songs. If you keep changing the bass sound every song then you lose that foundation..

So, IMHO, unless you are a serious cover band muso looking nail every bass sound ever recorded in one gig, then its not worth going for the multi's.

Just get a solid preamp and rock out!

you can alter the sound by playing with your vol/tone knob or your active preamp,it helps for me =) but only to a certain extent

hi someone,

that's actually a good perspective and a point that i'll agree on. =)

i have to agree that at the end of the day the bass is something that sticks the band together like glue, that's true (that's why i stick with only a simple chorus pedal for now).

i believe though that if players who want to experiment in this area of effects, they are free to do so. If nothing works out with multi-effects there's always the off switch to step on. hahahaha ...

so for those who are thinking of trying out ... why not? you may find something that you really like and something that may fit in.

For the rest, coming back to the "glue" concept for the bass guitar is important. We are after all, bass players. =)

True. At the end of the day. It's not what others think but it's about what we are most comfortable with. I think this is the most important factor. Nothing wrong with trying pedals. Its the same like the era-old debate between pick playing bassist and finger plucking bassist. There's no right nor wrong :)

maybe thats why broramonebro, you are a bass player that play bass instead of being someone that happen to play bass who like to talk bass more than playing bass.

*sew lips with chilli padi while running away*

i would go for boss gt-6b because imo theres a wider variety of effects which also sound better than the line 6. but of course the gt6b is quite complicated.. when i tried the line 6 i understood almost everything by the first 5 minutes.
