Which jazz bass ?

really confused of what to get as there are so many different types of jazz bass.

standard ? aerodyne ?

my band plays heavy stuffs like metalcore etc. so i would perfer to have a deep fat tone. helppp

aeroodyne works best for you i think. it's active and has a split P and J combo. the P sounds better for heavy stuff.

you can also consider a humbucking bass for a more receptive 'heavy' tone.

i recently got an aerodyne

its the only one that has an alder body instead of basswood. pickups are dimarzio collection j for both neck and bridge

i am extremely impressed with the construction and tone. the sound is quite aggressive. to be honest i havent played jazz basses enough to be familiar with their tone but this is really something different.

i would recommend it though if you do get it please get another colour cos i don't know anyone who uses this and i want to be special :roll:

but yeah i agree with sub for metal stuff i would prefer an active humbucker really loud and powerful

yea , humbucker bass , thought of that though , like stingray ? but really out of budget. hahas.

anyway for aerodyne model , i can only find the one with p-j pickups.

Considered the Musicman Sub? The 2 band EQ usually sounds bigger than the regular 3 band found on Stingrays.

holas: ishibashi. not on their site but frankly their layout sucks. any domestic model they dont display on their site can just email them to ask

p-j config of the aerodyne is meant to make the sound more suited for heavy stuff... but it seems the traditional j bass pickup config doesnt compromise the heaviness for this particular model

if you need big sound at a budget i personally would recommend ibanez, i own a srx500 4 string active bass that is huge on fatness. it has a wicked bass boost. i've always been intrigued by their SR series too, particularly the sr900, the curved body and string-through design looks awesome
