Which is better?

hey ppl. i need to know. which is better? the epiphone les paul custom or the epiphone les paul standard

Between these 2 it's more of an aesthetics difference than tone. No better or worse, just different.

threadstarter, that depends on what sound youre looking for really. the sg's a neck heavy (think neck diving) guitar. though i personally love sg's, the neck diving might be abit much for some to handle. in terms of tone, sg's being thinner bodi-ed, is well, thinner sounding compared to a lp.

almondx, theres a varitaion in tone actually. the custom is alot bassier imo.

I think the Custom is one piece of mahogany sandwiched between 2 maple or something liddat.. Cant rmb correctly..And the last i tried, there was a substantial amout of difference in tone.. LP Standard goes better with distortion, IMO.

if it's Epiphone, the model monicker (custom/ std/ classic/ etc...) is negligible pertaining to specific superiority. get the model which you are comfortable with/ sounds good to you.
