Hey all, considering getting an Ibanez. Problem is, i don't know what makes a good Ibanez. Need advice from you pros out there! Thanks.. :)

the new Korean units by Ibanez play well & are free from the dodgy tuning issues presented by the now discontinued TRS trem...

there are too many Ibanez to recommend you, tell us what's your preference- body wood/ pickups/ neck profile/ etc...

on the SZ320- it's a rewarding guitar for those of us who wants a good tone without the floating bridge hassle 8)

well

Swee Lee got instalments?! Oooohh.... Cant wait for them to bring in the Mesas!! Heh...

Back to the topic... RG2020, 2120, 2027 or 2127....

Well, basically my budget's under a thousand dollars. And i'm through getting Ibanez with small to medium frets. I'm more at ease with Large or Jumbo frets from Ibanez. I personally like the GRG370FM and RGX320FM. Not to concerned with pickups or bridge, just prefer a Rosewood fretboard. It's my first guitar so i ain't wanna pay extra cash for branded Ibanez pickups and bridge. Comments anyone? :)

i'd say you chip in a little more to acquire the RG 470/ 450 which are Jap units. the price package also includes a hard case. FYI, since the 5XX RGs were elevated into the Prestige range (reincarnated as the 15XX models), the 4XX RGs are top of its range, before the offerings enter the Prestige range of course...

the 450/ 470 sports your specs- jumbo frets/ rosewood fretboard... having read that it's your first guitar, if you like the RG shape/ feel, i'd say you consider the RG321 as well. cheers!

My advice is:
Go to Swee Lee and try them out!!!!
I mean, recommendations are fine, people can recommend their taste to you, but it's like saying, i can recommend who i am to you, would you want to be me??? I think the best is to ask what you want, then start zooming down on the options. And your ears play the biggest part, follow them. The more guitars you try, the more your ears speaks, and when you feel your heart pumping and saying, "I NEED THAT GUITAR!, IT'S AFFORDABLE AND I LOVE THE SOUND!", go for it! We are who we are, and our guitar has to be who we are, what we like is who we are, and what we like our guitar to be is when our guitar and ourselves become one. Pretty crap talk but it works!!!!!
And one more thing, never go for second best!!!
