Which Double Pedal

Hi! I know there have already been tons of threads about which pedal is best and stuff. My budget is about 450max. From the reviews I'm rather interested in the P28950?, DW pedals, and the Pearl Eliminators. I tried the cobras before and didn't really like them, but I'm just trying to learn double ped so I don't know whether that was just me. Like it didn't feel smooth enough. Further information, price and where to buy much appreciated :D thanks.

P28950? woah. whats that? with 450 its either the elims or dw7000s bro. between them. i'll go with the elims. you might wanna check sweelee sims. they just restocked their Pearl inventory. :)

they're the peace velocity ones I think. Honestly I've never really tried the pedals but just from reading around I think those are good value. As for DW I'm just biased because DW is always good haha. Err what's the "rank" of the DW pedals? As in from cheapest to most expensive, supposed lousiest to best.

Ok thanks alot. Are the 7000s more worth it than the 5's? As in is it better to just save up to get the 7s. And how does value compare with the peace velocitys and pearl elims?

Ah so sorry to keep bothering you guys but whats the price for the dw5000 and 7000 and how do they compare with the pearl elims (price too)

i think 7k are single chain... 5k's are dual chained...

the fun of GAS'ing is to go down to the places selling this stuff and compare it yourself man...

u can try ur luck at swee lee trying out the pearl elims and cobra...

DW5000 and DW9000 are the flagship pedals for DW. IMHO, the DW9000 series are overpriced.. the DW5000 is more expensive than the other single pedals, but I feel that they're not bad. There're some hardware issues with DW pedals... but I've not heard or encountered any problems lah. No harm checking out I guess -> http://www.pearldrummersforum.com/showthread.php?t=60291

The pearl elims are pretty worth it, I used mine for a while before changing to flying dragons. The plastic cams on the pedal are sturdy as hell... the pedal is superbly responsive, and very tweakable.

As for the DW hierachy, IIRC, 4000, 7000, 5000, 9000 (for double pedals its 4002, 7002, 5002, 9002). For the DW7000s, there're some limitations to the adjustability... can't recall what it was now.

To be very honest (don't quote me, this is my own opinion), I don't think its a good idea to blow that wad of cash on DW 5000s or 9000s. DW is overpriced imo. The amount of money that can get you a DW7000 can easily get you a pair of cobras, elims or even flying dragons. For peace pedals, I've never tried, you could try asking marcdadrummer about them though.

Ok thanks alot guys. Looks like I'll go try out the elims then... I tried the Cobras before and didn't really like em.

okay. heres the difference between 7000 and 5000. assuming the 5000 is the turbo series. they have the same cams. the most sig difference in performance is that the 7000 does not have the ball bearings that the 5000, 8000 and 9000 has. 7000 is double chained. Oh yeah DW now has the 8000 series. falls between 5000 and 9000.

Elims can get at $450 meh? I thought its close to $500....budget is maxed out at $450 here. You might want to try the Pearl 900 series pedals...I tried one of my student's and it is really responsive and easy to play....I can pull off everything I play on it easily....that should be closer to your budget...

personally, ive got the Pearl 900 series n the P-1000.

the 900 is the new series of hardware that Pearl has launched not long ago - ie. latest to date.

about the 900
===========
- lightweight(even at highest tension of the spring, still feels light)
- more responsive
- dual sided beater
- more classic looking, ie. simpler design

P-1000
=====

- Heavier and tighter in comparison to the 900.
- not as responsive
- has a (quad)4-sided beater
- sleeker design (same pedalboard as the elims)

At the end of the day, i utilise both of them to get a feel of playing with different pedals. But i would prefer the 900 series(personal preference).

PS : all of the above are personal opinions based on my feet/leg

hope it helps !
