a good casing is the one fit your guitar nicely. (duh!)

Sometimes you can't choose the brand due to availability :lol:

SKB Cases are good. I've been using mine for close to ten years, there was an incident when the case slid down the stair case. Nothing happened, everything stayed in tack. My friend fender case however, opened up causing his lone star strat to have some scars on the body.

Now he's got a lone star relic.

Anyways it's very important that your guitar does not move around at all in the case. Try putting the instrument inside and shaking it a little. If there's movement it pretty much means your guitar is at risk. I feel this is something you should most definately think about if you're playing a Strat style instrumet, "Strat" style instruments come in varying sizes, most case companies market their cases are "Strat" style most times, and most times they won't really fit all that well.

I believe Swee Lee has SKB.

+1 to durability & dedicated protection. i personally did a crash-test with one of my Ibanez guitars & an SKB case, both items survived the unkind treatment.

a more affordable version of the SKB, 'FREEDOM' is also recommended. it currently houses my Fender Highway1 strat with a very good fit.

yeah, SKB is good stuff. they used to make cases for Fender and Music Man guitars. Fender cases are made by a different factory now.

to 3notesAbar, u have to take note that with the SKB Roller Cases, u need to stuff ur "gig-bag together with ur bass" into the case. there is no padding inside. anw, i'm sure u know abt that already. hheheheheh...

Yeah man, It'll be great for going overseas! Store gig bag as well heeee. I just gotta find out about freight costs to some countries, dont think can lug that thing into plane cargo. haiz.

skb only manufacture hard cases? i dun think my guitar deserves a hard case... lol... they're quite ex right?

referin more to those super padder "soft" casing

well ashleigh music gave me a really good n cool softcase, when i bought their guitar.. the center piece above.. not talking abt the exterior i added tt manson picture myself..

the interior is kinda like those cool carpet material and the headstock area has a nice leathery kinda protectection.. the padding is quite thick it has cardboard backing or smt inside.. costs ard 30..

the FREEDOM case has a tight fit for Fenders, with Ibanez RG/ S models, there's slight movements but it does the job well.

my S-series is kept in an SKB case.
