which bass should i get?

anyone every tried a gibson lespaul bass before? Looks so classy and cool. I tried it but im not bass sound expert. I thought it sounded nice.

From what i hear,some of the gibson ley-por GUITARS are pretty poorly made. May want to do some hardcore testing before getting the bass version...

hmmm... i was actually interested in an OLP tony levin signature.... think it'll be a good buy? plus i've only seen it in natural aged colour... dat means a maple fretboard....... in wad aspects does a maple fretboard major in, if i may ask?

that Tony Levin model is a cracking bass, if only there's a 4-string version...

maple fretboard gives off a slightly brighter sounding top end. i don't hear it markedly from a bass (as oppossed to a guitar), compared to how a bass pickup influences tone.

i mean i'm reali into ton levin's sounds but yeah... unfortunately only a 5 str is available.. plus the olp basses necks r rather wide ya? nt lyk fenders slim necks....

For $600, go buy a yamaha BB414 IMO one of the best basses you can buy at that price range.
