Hello!

I have just found out about this website today...I'm hoping to learn how to play the bass, and have a few questions:

Where should I learn how to play the bass?
What bass would be good for a beginner like me to start with??

Thanks !:D

I have a passive Samick P-bass for sale for $160(neg). Comes with a free gig bag.Its a pretty decent bass guitar for starters. Not high end stuff but it does the job.

You can check around for people selling second hand bass or you could go around some shops to survey the range and type of bass around. Swee Lee, Luther, Ranking, Yamaha, G77, GC and lots more. Mainly depending on your buget, how much you intend to spend on your bass.

I actually wanna get a Ibanez bass, but the ones at Swee Lee are $500+...

The max I can spend on a bass is ard $350~...Sec 1 only, where got so much $$ to splurge?

get it second hand la bro..ibanez the lowest end of the GIO is not recommended la..tried it myself before..not worth the money spent.

so the 350 is EXCLUDING amp and miscellaneous stuff (like strap, picks, cable, tuner) ?

The 350 is bass only...How to find bass+amp+picks+strap+tuner @$350?If got such a good deal tell me...No offense...Cos' I dun think it's possible for everything @$350...It seems impossible...

the OLP MM2 bass guitar package at davis? $275 if i'm not wrong. comes with all the stuff u need. :D

bass package to avoid

the sx starter package, really not worth although it is $200
have 1 at home and have tons of problems with the bass, amp and basically everything

mi recommendation?

get the ibanez gio starter set with the gsr 200, its quite meaty sounding bass for its price

disagree ...

i think if you set their low-end GIOs up properly it'll play very well ... i have a friend who has the GIO starter bass and the action and feel is amazing .. goodness .. feels Korean-made and sounds great ... it's those kind of rare GIOs that pop up here and there ...

You're kidding me.. The OLP is as solid a bass you can get in that price range... O.O And last i checked, it was 550!

olp's got quality... gio needs luck... but sup with the name Official licensed product anyway? sounds so 3rd class... as if SUB wasn't bad enough.
