This is the feedback I got from one of my students:
Student: Can you quote me for a setup and to level the frets? I have this axe.....
Malcolm: $250.
Student: Can you quote me for a setup and to level the frets? I have this axe.....
KC: $120 to $150 depending on the amount of work.
Student: Can you quote me for a setup and to level the frets? I have this axe.....
Beez: I can set it up for you but not level the frets. Set up is $40 - $60.
At the end of all the sourcing, he went to KC. Ended up paying $60 for services rendered. He didn't have to level the fret.
Well, the point here I am making is: Each of these service providers are, no doubt, good, and they will have their customers forking out their hard earned $ for a setup.
There will be ppl who will pay Malcolm's rates, that's their choice. They probably CAN afford it, no problem with that!
So, readers of this thread: Ask around, be specific and do your homework. Then DECIDE.
