Hi all,

I have a MIA fender american traditional which i have it with me for 10 yrs.

I start to notice that the frets are wearing out and curved in on some of the mostly used frets.

Does anyone know where can i get this serviced and how much would i expect tobe charged?

Thanks for any feedback

SV does re-fretting. please get back to them on the exact charges. Please expect a $200+/- quotation

Have to agree with Santana on this. Head down to Guitar Connection for a refret.

I did take some pictures of my Ibanez acoustic guitar after they did a refret for me. They replaced 5 frets for me and leveled them down to match the existing ones. shared them on another thread here. I can always attach the pictures here again.

rounded fret ends.

no wood chips.

does it even look like a refret?

My uncle just sent in his Fender Clapton for a full refret. maple is more expensive to do compared to rosewood. he paid $300. The guitar is currently with me at the moment & that V neck is something I'm not comfortable with..

check out how well the frets are slotted.

fret ends as smooth as ever.

Full refrets are usually around the $200-$300 region. My advice is check whether you need a full refret or not. Guitar Connection has always been my preferred choice for refrets. The way they do the fret ends is insane. totally smooth & you don't have to worry about cutting yourself (even guitars like Parkers have sharp fret ends). You can ask Wayne if you want round fret ends like the ones you see on Ibanez J Customs. He can do it but how much more, you gotta check.

Check out the Sound Alchemy facebook page for the refrets they have done. As ShredAddict and sub has mentioned it'll be about $200+

Guitar Connection would be your best bet like what Santana and Shredaddict said. Re-fretted my 1973 fender strat there, a great job and no problems whatsoever now.

Check whether fret leveling is sufficient to solve your problem. I got my frets leveled at Guitar Connection which is cheaper than having a full refret. worn frets are harder to do bends on which really gets to me while playing.

Let the guys there assess your guitar and see which would be the best solution.
