Where to mod a pedal?

what do you intend to do with it that Sound Alchemy can't deliver? IMO, Scott is pretty good at mods. what pedal is that?

Umm the Uber Metal by itself is extremely high gain already, how much gain you need?. They can't do anything to it, well because it's a digital pedal and Scott doesn't deal with digital stuff.

Best to discuss with him yourself. Tell him your needs & see if he is able to provide that kind of mods or anything similar.

as mentioned here, thats way too over if you want to mod it to higher gain, the only thing i see for modifications of that pedal is the way it will respond to dynamics, saturation and tone.

ive been modding pedals for quite a long time,eg. metalzone, the only thing yoy can do to it is to remove the nasal sound of that beast. :D

search demos online. most of the time the mods just change the chips and LEDs. for the ds-1, it definitely removes it's saturation. mt-2's can remove the nasal tone. but removing the nasal tone of the mt-2 kinda makes it sound like a heavy ds-1. haha

Sorry for the late reply, the pedal Im intending to mod is a Bass big muff, I wanna add a master volume knob into it, and a oscillation switch. I have a link to the site where the instructions are given, its just that im a total noob w a soldering iron I dont wanna take e risk

I tried calling sound alchemy but apparently I have to 'wait a long time' before, it'll be done so Im looking other alternatives.

TY is too by the book. What they don't know they won't try.
Beez had good Boss mods, no idea if he does custom.
Randolf is pricey, but reliable. Custom might require a quote.
Never tried Wreckzal seeing he is still fresh.

Goose is the man but he is very busy!
Scott always entertain my nonsense! The wait is short and bearable. I find it kickass that I can bring in diagrams and he can mod it accordingly, complete with sourcing for parts etc. If it's not urgent I think he would be worthwhile.

Yup Scott's great! But too bad the jobs have been moving rather slowly.. His prices are the best also, for the exact same mod, goose wanted to charge me 2x the price! But goose definitely knows his stuff la, that goes without saying.

Beez stopped doing mods for pedals i think. I remembered he said it was too troublesome. but if you ask him personally he prolly might do it. real nice guy.

I would ask randolf to do it cos he's reliable and does a damn good job. think he's touring now though.

I noticed you are a very cost conscious person. Most of us are yes but I really think it's "a penny for every bit of quality" when it comes to such things. I rather pay the extra bit, take it as a lesson learnt and if given the opportunity, provide that information to others.

I've gone to Goose for almost everything to do with electronics for the last 5 years at least. Custom mods do require time to think through too. Since time = money & if I were him, I'd do stuff that will get me more money with the same amount of time. Hence the pricing. Of course, that is my opinion. He is so reputable he probably does not need the advertisement.

i would love to do mods, but im still on the sourcing stage as of now, i can give the service as long as its doable and practical. sometimes modification won't turn out great, based on my experience. I have done several pedals (but not that i know everything already), and ive seen a lot of mods that are great and some can turn out worst :D

I think I can handle the mod :D

some want the stompswitch to be a toggle, for aesthetic purposes, because it ruins the looks of the pedal.
