Where to have tuners changed?

Hi guys,

Where can I go to have the tuners on my Squire Strat changed? They are now the cheapo stock ones and I would like to have them changed to something more vintage looking just for the kicks. The current ones don't hold tune very well either.

It'll be most appreciated if someone could also let me in on the approximate price of the service.

Many thanks!

Maestro at Peninsula. Standard Value at Woodlands. Novelty Music at Park Lane.
I'm not sure abt the price.
I only know that David from Novelty Music is charging me $50 service fee to set-up my guitar & replacing the machine heads, stop tail piece, tune-o-matic bridge, neck plate and pick guard mounting bracket. It's a package price though. Not sure abt the price of changing just the machine heads.

Haha!

It'll be way super if I DIYed, and screwed it all up. WAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm a klutz at things like these.

Called Mike from Standard Value and he does it too! Whoa! Nice!

BUT, I was told that the spacing for the tuners are different. Duh.... I'll prolly go let him take a look. He's got Wilkinsons (is that how you spell it?!?!) and that might work.

We'll see... Haha!

;)

my friend changed from kluson-type tuners on those MIK epiphones to those tiny small grover locking tuners.

he had it done at G77 and the dude had to re-drill holes for the screws to fit.so beware.its a like it or hate it move.

Yeah....

Mike from SV was very professional about it. He told me to bring it over before we decide what to do. Just like a doctor tells his patients to go over, do a diagnosis, then recommend a course of action.

Now, thats ace professionalism!

I'm goin over to see him soon! :-D

Changing tuning pegs on the headstock?
Do it yourself? All you need is pliers and a screwdriver If its the screwon type.

You srsly wanna pay someone to use the Pliers?

be sure that the ones you purchase FIT.

I know. Its just that I don't know which ones fit. And I don't have the luxury of buying a bunch of them to find out. Hehe... I leave the professionals to what they do best yo...

haha, i bought one set from the GFS mass order.
i dont even know if the screws going to fix.
can only compare the photos with my guitar.
just pray ~

I DIY mine. Its really simple. Just unscrew the screws and bolts. Dun have to spend money for people to do it.

Unless he's going for different tuners with different etc... I certainly recommend Mike, he did setups and hardtailing on my guitar and I'm very pleased with his work. :D
