Depends on what you want to do. a one stop place is Guitar Connection in Peninsula. But better go down and show Kelvin your guitar first. Don't just call. he gets antsy answering the phone... Heh...

I think the paintjob outer coat is thicker if we get them done in SIngapore... Technically I dunno why but having played in one of such guitars, I feel that the tone seems abit compressed. I'm not a technical person thus I can't explain why but I would feel that having to repaint the colour, mantaining the tone and resonance should be a top priority.. just my 2 cents worth.

Maybe some Luthiers here can share their views?

I've had my guitars done by Kelvin before. I specified 1 coat of NITRO finish, and that's what I got... it was so thin, that the paint started sinking into the wood... whahahaha...

But much of what you're talking about isn't just the paint. Mainly due to the wood, and how much air there is in the grain.

so you also mean that if i have scratches on the surface, i can hand it to kelvin to buff out the scratches and spray a layer of nitrocellulose laq over the guitar?i use a lp std from gibson

technically you can. but you don't just buff and spray over the previous layer. You're just piling it on. He CAN remove it for you and refinish your guitar if you want.

I wana remove my paint + paint the whole guit, including the neck, is that possible? o.o and do they have non glossy paint?

how much does it usually cost?

uhhh.. why would u want to paint over scratches on your les paul? guitars are meant to be played and wear out overtime, whats the point of having a perfectly mint guitar? (unless you are trying to sell it as mint, doubt its worth it though) might as well just keep it down the basement in a hardcase and hide it away then.
The only sensible reason i can see someone wanting to get their guitar repainted is to strip off the thick poly finish and slap on some thin nitro so the wood breaths better and wears down more naturally
