Where to go for Guitar setup

As above. There are threads on this but is quite old already. Not sure whether the guitar expert they recommend is still around.

I just bought a new guitar and know nothing about the quality of pickups from different brands or which strings are better. So I need someone who can help in the guitar set up for newbie like me without withholding any info. (eg. charging me loads just to lower the action, giving me crappy end-product just cos I am a newbie and can't tell the difference in quality, etc.)

Hi, sorry for the super late reply. My crappy guitar has this buzz sound from the strings and I have not sent it for setup ever since I bought this guitar. I am very new so I may have to ask whether my crappy guitar need repair or set up or they actually mean the same thing ?? What do you exactly mean by ''setting up your guitar'' ?

My guitar glossary is so very limited. Please excuse me if I ask stupid questions.
