Hey guys!

I am currently in the midst of setting up a home-recording studio. Anyone knows a good place to get cheap boom stands both the normal sized ones and the mini ones for amplifiers?

Also, a place where they mics... budget in total for 2 mics is about 250-300dollars.

And any reccomendations for a dynamic mic(recording guitars) and a condenser mic(recording vocals).

Thanks.

Regards,
Bryan

if your budget is only 300 max for 2 mics, i suggest Audio Technica AT2020 from Luther Music at Excelsior Shopping Center Level 2 at City Hall..it's only 150 per mic and has decent quality for it's price..it's a condenser microphone.

there's a AT2041 (i think that's the model) which costs about 299 from Luther. Comes with two mics, one large diaphragm condenser (AT2020) and one small diaphragm condensor. ideally you will want to use condensers for guitars. if it's not for a live gig, condensers are the best choice to record guitars as guitars are not instruments which produce high SPLs and where clarity is vital.

for mic stands just look around on soft. there's really no point in getting new stands cuz they can be quite costly.

If you're going to make a trip down to Luther you could check out Music Theme for mic stands at the same time. I don't know if they still stock them but I remember buying a boom stand for like 20 bucks or something last year.
