Am currently looking for this pick up . Anyone has any idea where i can get them? If so, hw much are they selling in for in a set of 3?

Guitar Connection has a used set. Dunno how much though. Most of the time, CS sets have to be ordered online, as Swee Lee for some reason doesn't believe in bringing these in.

Ahh .. Dam .. Thanks though .. What about the Lindy Fralin's vintage hots? Have you tried them ? Do you know how it compares to the CS69s?

Those are 2 different sets altogether. What are you after in the first place?

I've tried a Fralin Vintage Hot set before. Chimey and tight. But the bridge packs a bit of a punch. however, they're not as shimmery as I'd like them to be in the in-between tones. As nice as they are, most Fender tones you hear and like are normally obtained only with Fender pickups. A current fav of mine is now the CS54s.

Listen to all these clips here: http://www.acmeguitarworks.com/Strat_Pickup_Sound_Clips_W1.cfm

The 69s are almost angelic in voice. They don't chime as nicely as a 50s set, but are extremely pliable and sounds like a demure girl on clean. The in-betweens are VERY nice, and the bridge, while sweet, is not dead, nor is it too bright. What is nice about that is when you push them thru some gain, they compress nicely, and have a sweet tone rather than aggressive.

If you check out my soundclick page in my siggy, the "Little Wing" clip was done on a set of CS69s. If you check out that "One Take" clip, that's a pair of 69s with a custom dimarzio humbucker at 250k in the bridge. Hear how well they match.

Neck - CS Custom 69
Middle - CS Fat 50's
Bridge - CS Texas Special

This seems to be the "magical" combination for some of the best Fender CS strats out there.

haha . Thanks man. Yeah, the 54s does sound very nice clean but once overdriven, i find that they just sort of lose it. The 69's seems to be able to handle gain much better, to my ears that is. Well, i'm actually looking for the "John Mayer" type tone.. The tone coming from his main strat is just godly man. Although i'm not very sure, the closest pickup that matches that tone seems to be from a CS60. But CS60s are only available if you get those custom shop 60s relic strat with them in it. Sadly they do not sell them other than that. The Big Dippers are also only available if you get the JM sig strat.. Well, hope you can help with what pick up will sound closest to the CS60s .. CHEERS !:)

Hmm... i'll have to try this combo! Any idea how the inbetween tones would sound like?

I wonder if those second hand ones are reliable . lol . Hmm, what pickup do you think i should go for if i like the tone coming from a CS60 thats not for sale unless i'm actually gonna spend a bomb on the custom shop relic 60s... Regarding the CS69s, i'll have to get it by ordering from somewhere else right ?
