Where to get a cheap and good hi-hat for a newbie?

I'm new to the drum scene and my kit is a pearl forum. I realised how bad sounding the hi-hats are and i want to get new ones. But i have a tight budget so i'm looking for hi-hats that are cheap and good; worth the money.

Oh and another question, should i get a new hi-hat stand if i buy a new hi-hat or should i just stick with the one that came with the kit?

i'd say a decent pair at a relatively cheap price would be the sabian xs20. stay clear from pasite's pst series.

u can try the sabian xs20 14" hats.. honestly i think they are pretty darn decent for beginner's range. secondhand price ranges from $150-$200.
Can try some turkish cymbals too.

swee lee sell the xs20 in a set. not sure if just hats alone. i think that time got.. i bought during a sale. if no sale it will cost $300-$350. yea. try the sims drive outlet!

mmm. $140 is good. logos all intact. check for small cracks at the side... but should be good

yeah stick marks, nothing a polish won't fix. although aesthetically they may look unpleasing, but i actually prefer my cymbals battered and bruised.
