as said on the thread name. i gotta find out where to do scalloping for fretboard and pickup replacement. is there a shop that can do both? and shoot me with rough prices so i can roughly gauge how much i need.

thanks. sorry for noob question

Neck Scalloping: http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/scal1.htm
Pickup replacement: http://www.musicplayers.com/tutorials/guitars/2006/0906_Pickups201.php
Price for both: Absolutely free:mrgreen:

Seriously, try replacing the pickup yourself. It's really very simple, all you need to do is a little soldering. And you'll learn a lot about how your guitar's electronics work in the process.

As for the scalloping, if you're really confident you can use the tutorial above, it has quite clear instructions and I've done it before. However if you're afraid of screwing it up then just take it to a shop and get it professionally done.

wow. thanks guys. yea.. if soldering i am able to. but i'm afraid of screwing the electronics. lol T_T i'll try. thanks guys

Open your guitar.

Before you do anything take a picture of the pickup wiring.

Change ur pickups etc.

Refer to the picture you took earlier

Solder the wires back together as shown in the pic.

Most guitar luthiers does pick up replacement, Beez is my recommendation, great guy to work with, just give him a call and ask if he does fretboard scalloping, I'm not sure 'bout that one. Hope that helped!

haha. cool then. i just opened one of my bro's guitar  nah. its one of his old ones la. trying to see how does the wiring works. oh btw. if i don't solder perfectly, it will cause some humming/high pitch sound right?:???:

What configuration and what pickups are u soldering on. If it's dimarzio u are using, u can actually find the soldering blueprints in the net.

Avria, it is not difficult to do the wiring. I am using Tesla pickups on my strat too. If you have any problem, you can PM me. :)

There you go. Dimarzios should be using this color coding too.

Yup you are right. Just change the stock capacitor on your tone potentiometer to orange drop. You can also do a treble bleed mod on the volume potentiometer if you want.
