where to buy CIJ Fender Jazz bass?

i was wondering where im able to buy a CIJ fender jazz bass in singapore?
im planning to upgrade from my current squire jazz to it.

help please!

Your best bet would be the 2nd hand market here. Otherwise you can get the MIJ Fenders at TYMusic. It's the Aerodyne series I believe.

Different bodywood, making it alot lighter (~7lbs vs ~10lbs on a standard Fender bass), and it has a slimmer profile. It has a radiused top, again different from standard basses, which makes installing custom bridges a major pain.

Cosmetically, a cream binding around the edges and matching coloured headstock. The cream MIJ in TYMC has black binding.

There's MIJ non-export Aerodynes, and the CIJ "USA version" American-market ones. "USA version" ones come in black only, without pickguard, and P/J config, and have strat style jacks (tough to use with right-angled cables).

Proud owner of a CIJ Aerodyne Precision here :p
If you're strictly looking for a regular Fender jazz bass, I wouldn't recommend the Aerodynes tho. They feel a little different to me.

You could try http://www.soft.com.sg/classified/bass/p19376-wts-fender-p-bass.html. Sure it's MIM P, but $200 vs ~$900-$1100.
Or if you're not in a rush you could also try having Brendon bring one in for you. http://www.bgwguitars.com/

pretty interested in getting a new bass now. been playing bass for almost a year. so i thought that getting a CIJ on would be able to last me for awhile. still cant really decide on which one to get,the aerodyne or the regular jazz.

anw for the aerodyne basses,it does come with pickguard and there are finishes in red right?

red finish/pickguard is for japan non-export models only... a bit harder to find, but still possible to get. get brendon to help you out or something.

very sexy.

Mm from what I know, Sound Alchemy can help you bring in the basses, but you might have to pay a deposit first. not too sure

There's one US aerodyne hanging in the Music Theme display. SG$1k75 last I checked.

TYMC and Sound Alchemy bring in Fender Japan guitars. Shouldn't be a problem ordering a MIJ through them, if waiting isn't an issue for you. There's a cream MIJ hanging in TYMC, $1k3 I think.

Aerodynes and Jazzes are different in a few ways. Most Aerodynes have P/J pickups. Aerodynes use Basswood which is lighter and softer. There is an export Aerodyne model with no pickguard.

hey all im still very new to playing the bass, only played it for a year and lots to learn from you guys.

im planning to upgrade from my current squire affinity to a MIJ Fender, the affinity doesnt sound very good to me.
my questions are:
where are the places that carries Fender Japan?
which bass model is prefered for rock? (eg, jaguar, jazz, aerodyne or special edition)
what is the estimated cost?(needa save up a lil)

Cheers~

Hi, welcome to bass playing.

We just spent two pages discussing where to get a MIJ/CIJ Fender. Some answers are more easily found with a few simple clicks than by asking cranky people like us.

The most common Fender styles are the precision and jazz.

MIAs will hurt you about 2k, down to the MIMs at 800 - 1k2. You can settle for decent Squiers at ~450-550. All in SGD.

Hm, what do you not like about your Squier? If you're able to tell us that, it'll be really easy for us to identify a good bass for you.
All those models you listed can be used in rock music, so it really depends on what kind of tone you're looking for. :)
