Hi fellow softies, need some help from u guys on where to buy stereo guitar cables (Y type) specifically for Musicman John Petrucci model? I tried many places but all said that they do not sell such cables which is frustrating. Pls help me mates.

try hung brother at simlim square 3rd floor. I use to buy canare stereo cable from there.

its sold at per meter length. Cost round 2 plus dollars couple years ago.

stereo cable can also be refered to as balanced instrument cable or microphone cable, just in case the shop fellas call it another name, its the same thing.

if hung bros dont have, then walk over to sim lim tower, theres a shop on the 2nd level, Lhs the name, which deal with customised cables and plugs, they should be able to do what you wanna.

since our instrument mostly using mono/unbalanced cable, stereo cable might not be easily gotten from geetar shops, instead it should be much easy to get it from pro audio shops.

Ah I see, thank u very much! I will surely go down and take a look, but can I alternatively use 2 standard guitar cables and patch them to a 2 to 1 output adaptor to get the same effect as the stereo cable?

That's not what he wants. He wants a cable that has two mono plugs on one end for each of the output jacks of the MM JP and both go into what I will assume will be a mono plug on the other end.

TS: My advice is that you forgo Hung Brothers and go straight to LHS in Sim Lim Tower as this sort of cable has to be custom-made.

hung bros just doesnt do the soldering.

as long the wire is conductible, even with jumper cable/clothe hanger, it can be soldered with different heads to be a stereo/mono instrument cable as well, quality sound wise, thhats another thing.

i have used the cables bought from hung bros for my diy cable with my audio interface, it works, expect that one end of it is a female stereo jack. If wanna a mono plug on the other end, just combined the 2 shielded conductor into one and solder to the tip of the plug and the ground still goes to the sleeve.

heh, on the other hand, another much easier method is prolly this. 2 mono cable into this sorta below. I bought this from sheng shiong, so dont have to go too far nor pay too much for it. This below is a 2 mono to 1 mono output. If need 2 mono to 1 stereo, it can be easily gotten from homefix or sheng shiong as well.
If really particular about using the instrument cable of choice, 2 mono cables can be easily soldered with one stereo plug on one end and 2 mono plugs on the other end, it wont look nice, but confirmed will work.
