A new song up for a VA release... when I thought I couldn't do any more music in a while after finishing my Quiet Windows album...

when they come alive tonighthttp://www.myspace.com/s0nicbrat

suitcase ep + acoustic guitar (treated) + vocals + sampling of toys and objects + xylophone processing (max/msp) + programming

A simple song... Hope you guys like it, best over headphones...

sounds pretty good, what do you use for your field recordings?
I've always been interested in max/msp and will probably try to dabble with it in the future. how steep is the learning curve, especially for someone with very basic programming knowledge?

Hello, thanks for dropping by for the listen. I use a KORG MR1000 for most of my field recordings. Microphone wise it depends on what I am recording... dynamic, condenser and a lot of contact mics... sometimes I still do sample with a MD recorder.

And yes, max/msp has a steep learning curve. I am still learning at the moment.

Cheers mate.
