ok..so u all know there's the acoustic guitar and the electrical guitar..
but many people don't really know much about the different types of acoustic guitars..

basically, there are various types..classical, flamenco, folk and more..
so technically, a classical guitar is an acoustic guitar..
many always differentiate between classical and acoustic guitars..

by fact, acoustic guitars that they're referring to is actually the folk guitar..
it's just referred to acoustic guitar nowadays..so that said, there are ways to distiguish these guitars..

1 - a folk guitar(aka acoustic guitar) is generally larger in size compared to a classical guitar..
2 - a folk guitar have strings made of steel whereas a classical guitar have strings made of nylon..
3 - the fretboard of a folk guitar is slightly curved while the fretboard of a classical guitar is straight..
4 - a folk guitar has a head that looks somewhat of an electric guitar whereas classical guitars have a slotted peg head..

in terms of sound..of course there's differences..but remember, aacoustic guitars are guitars that don't use any amplification so classical guitar is in fact an acoustic guitar(as said earlier)

Hmm, don't forget the playing style too. Classical guitars are more for classical music, and flamenco etc. While acoustic guitars are more for pop, folk, rock, bluegrass etc.

it might be a reason for finger pain... but still... it depends how u wan the sound to be...

this is the case of a cap is a hat, a hat is not a cap.

classical guitars are acoustic in the sense of making it sound loud acoustically.
classical or spanish guitar(many names) has a lovelovelovelovelove-to-restring headstock, wider necks and 3 steel and 3 nylon strings for fingerpicking, which is largely associated to classical guitars.

still blur? there always http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_guitar

Classical guitars are also known as acoustic guitars. To avoid confusion u can call them Nylon-string guitar or steel string. All the strings on the classical guitar are nylon, the bass are nylon wounded in steel etc.

Differences between flamenco guitar and classical guitar is that flamenco guitar have lower action, they are made from different woods. They generally sound more snappier from the lowered action and have less sustain.
