What Practice Amp would you recommend?

I've been playing guitar for close to a year. I am using a Fender Telecaster along with a Vox Pathfiner 10. However, i feel that my amp does not sound appealing enough and there always seems to be a buzzing sound.
I understand that the buzzing sound has to do with the grounding of the amp.

Would you guys recommend me a good practice amp? I do not need anything to loud. Budget is around $800 (Maybe more, hopefully lesser). I tend to play Blues + Blues Rock Stuff along with classic rock. I was thinking of getting a tube amp (any recommendations) or would it be better if i get a separate head and cab?

Thanks

Hmm.. I would recommend the Fender blues junior. Excellent sound. Read it here few months back that someone wants to sell it. Or head to blackwood to find. Maybe you can consider the Vox ac4tv? Really good tube amp with 4 watts. Trust me, that shit is loud! But my personal favourite would be the vox night train. head alone is $600. I dont know about the combo version. You got to ask citymusic for that.

IMO, try the blues junior.

it's also inevitable when you activate drive/ distortion when playing single coil pickups- you are playing a telecaster, yes? 8-)

you need to try as many amps & shortlist your choices, in addition to taking note of the recommendations here. i'd suggest you look into amps with bigger drivers (12" recommended) for a tonal difference. do tell us whether you rely on the amp for drive/ distortion or you have pedals to look into that.

Fender Champ 600 is a great sounding little amp, but a little more $$ (around $600).

I think the Roland Cube and MicroCube series are hard to beat. I've got the MicroCube and also had the MicroCube RX which sounds fuller.

the Champion 600 is much overlooked, maybe it's often overshadowed by the Blues/ Pro Jr when people talk about small tube (Fender) amps.

Yup, I do have pedals to provide me with the distortion and drive.

Was initially considering the Blues Junior but i understand that theres two versions? what's the difference between the two and which would be more value for money?

Checked out the reviews for the Vox nightrain on youtube. Sounds great! might even save up for it. But it does seem really expensive? Do you guys think its worth the money?
