What mixers do you use with your mic? Share with me your experiences with the mixers you have used before. How much of a difference does it make to the overall quality of the recording? Audio samples accompanying the equipment used is welcome.

I'm currently using a Yamaha MG 10/2 which I bought second hand. I think this model has been discontinued.

This is the first mixer that I own.

Given my rather limited experience with mixers and pro-audio equipment in general, I would be in no position to comment on the precise audio intricacies, perceptible or imaginary.

But as far as I'm concerned as a noob studio hobbyist, there's no noise, everything I've plugged into it and output through it have sounded just like how I thought they should sound. I'm a happy man.

actually its not the mixer that makes the difference to the sound. it is the preamps and maybe the eq on the channel if u used the eq. im currently using a soundcraft spirit powerstation mixer. It does make a big difference to the sound. which is why studio have so many different outboard preamps.

yup exactly... all mixers "should" b equal except for the preamps and the way their eq knobs work. oh yeah noise also =]
