IMO with that kinda budget, you'd do well with the mid-price guitars (regardless of the brand name) but don't get a practice-grade amp.
What guitar do you guys recommend for a beginner like me(budget around 1k or less)

With 1k budget I think you can get a pretty decent guitar and amp already... If you like the rock and heavy metal genre, I think you might like something with a really wacky shape too? B.C.Rich and ESP have such guitars in your price range. Go to their website (if you don't know just google) and check out their guitars, see if there's anything you like. If you like a less outrageous look, I think something in the Ibanez RG series might suit you, since most of them have double locking Floyd Rose or Ibanez Edge (which is pretty similar). You can try Yamaha RGX as well, I've never really tried it but I heard a lot of people giving positive comments about it.
