Try to check out Tommy Igoe's Groove Essentials if you can.

There's plenty of free stuff around, for starters, check out the pages on the Vic Firth website:

tommy igoe's book is excellant. very useful for learning grooves and reading charts, although the midi music does get abit irritating after awhile haha

You know wierdly enough i would recommend that since you got the chance to play with a drumset that you actually learn how to set up a drumset starting from tom positions, bass floor hihat snare positions, cymbal stands and cymbal positions etc. cus honestly i think its embarassing that alot of the "drummers" do not know how to setup their sets properly. And trust me it does help that your setup is done well and you know how to do it cus on stage before you go on to play your gig, when the guitarist and bassist are all tweeking their stuff try to get ur set to the most comfortable position you can cus you are the main timekeeper so you have to be the one doing so comfortably.. lol i remembered starting out playing a normal 16's in this wierd position and ended up with a back ache and a really bad hand... =) cheers!
