What distortion pedal is gd?..

IMO

Jackhammer- Cheap but has an overdrive panel with it. Real heavy good for chugging.

Metal ZOne- Screachy good for leads and riffs

MD-2- Good for everything

I myself own a DS-2 and its pretty ghood

its not abt good or not its the sound you want. some people like aggressive crunch, some people like fuzzy sounds some like fat warm stuff...its all subjective. :P

hey im looking for a multi effects pedal like with distortion and shit if there is. or is it possible to hook up single pedals together?

will a boss mt-2 work well with a Nj Warlock? just curious cus im not that much of an expert on sounds and all..just mess around till it sounds nice..

I love my Zoom Hyper Lead pedal. Grab one if you see one - extremely versatile cos u can dial in the EQ, as well as the frequency range of the mids.

GT-2 is good - but imo the older version is better.

Tri-AC - listen to ShredCow? i would like to try a Tri-AC if i can lay my hands on one.

previously was using boss MT2, Zoom 505 for a while.

MT2 : too much gain n too fuzzy, the build in equaliser dun seem to help much. lead does not sound warm enough, i tot...

Zoom : was my subsitute pedal for a month or two after i sold my MT2. it sounds too artificial..

now im happy with my Korg AX1500.

no one really talks much about proco rats huh? i myself like the deucetone rat its one of the most versatile distortion pedals around. you should go check it out.

I use to own a Proco Rat 2. It gives this very "dark" distortion. I won't say it gives you that heavy sound but it is good enough for lead tones and average overdrive feel.

Guys, you might wanna check out the Digitech Bad Monkey overdrive. Really great sounding overdrive with a nice crunch. It isn't expensive too.

I've tried GT2 (older version), DS-1 Japan ... The warmest distortion is still AMT Fataltube.
I really dig it.
Any of u here tried it before?
Very thick analog sound.

Union...

You sound pretty new to stompboxes. I would recommend digital effects as they're indeed catching up with pedal and amp distortions, but with a much lower price and greater flexiblity, especially if you wanna try out everything. I use Line6's pod xt live both at home and for big live performances, and its pretty good. But of course, tone is subjective, so just use your ears and try out everything. And practice hard too, tone is also in the fingers.

Where did you find this in SG? I've heard cool stuff about it on HCFX but never seen it in Yamaha, do they sell it in Swee Lee?

That's where the true tone of the guitar really comes out and shines through eh? :D

when you plug stright through the amp, you are preserving the guitar's inherent tone. this is especially crucial if you swap pickups, you'd get to hear their real character, this is how you'd know whether your new pickups made the tona difference.

i'm not against pedals entirely, just that it processes your tone before it reaches the amp. if i am moved to employ pedals in my lineup, it'd connect it parallel to the amp.

I use the Sansamp TRI AC... And when I go for shows/gigs, I don't bring an amp around and I don't worry about whether the amps at the venue are good or bad, whether I'll like it or not and so on.

The TRI AC is my "amp" and all my sound comes from it... :)

Yea, sweelee. I called to check the price yesterday, about 130 list i think. That's before discount. After discount it should be that much more affordable.
