I think the Fender G-DEC is about 300-400, not really sure about the exact price.
I own the Roland Cube 30, it's an above average modelling amp, but it's forte lies in its higher-gain amp models, like the modelled Marshall and Mesa amps. If you're looking for a more vintage tone, the Vox Valvetronix series would be a better bet.
Cleans-wise, the Cube has very clear, perhaps even sterile cleans. Not bad per se, but if you're expecting sparkling cleans like those of a tube amp, they won't be found here.
For effects, the Cube has an array of basic effects (chorus, flanger, phaser, delay and reverb), which while not the best that you can find, are adequate for a beginner or just for bedroom noodling. You'll probably be using stompbox or multieffects later on so it doesn't really make a difference if you are.
For me, I currently use the Cube only in neutral EQ settings on the clean channel, reason being that I am mainly using a POD XT Live for tone-shaping and effects. If you wanna try out the Cube, you can always PM me or one of the many other Cube users here
