What Acoustic Guitar to Get in Japan

Hi all, a friend of mine is about to do her exchange studies in Japan and I asked her if she could help me buy an acoustic-electric guitar. Thing is, I don't know that much about acoustic-electric guitars. The only acoustic guitars that I've tried and think are good are the ones from Yamaha and Takamine.

Any recommendations for a budget of $400 SGD?

Guitars in japan are very expensive. I suggest u to get it in singapore as it's much cheaper.

Agree. I was wondering if I could get some good guitars over there, plus the value of the guitar would be good too since it's MIJ. Just need recommendations that's all. After that, I'll read up on them and do some research. Thanks

get a guitar not found in sg. many jap brands are fantastic too

if u have lots of money (arnd $1000) to spare, you can get the takamine japan models...

get their take on gibson acoustic models?

I would suggest get it in Singapore. Weather conditions here are different from Japan. you know what i mean......

the best is too test it yourself...playability, tone, comfort etc

and you're going to buly that girl friend of yours to carry an acoustic guitar all the way from Japan?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, hmmm... Bro leecs I know what you mean regarding weather conditions. My current Ibanez though is MIJ and hasn't given me any problems so far. I'll consider what you've said aite

Testing the guitar personally, yep I'm very fussy when it comes to electric, but for acoustic however, I'm not that picky. I'll read the specs then see how it goes. Thanks again everyone, will do some research and price comparisons now
