Hi I'm on a tight budget for drum mics and I came across KMD7.

Anyone use this mics for drum recording?

I know it won't be great but can it produce decent sound?

Thanks :p

Thanks Ron. Guess who is part of my inspiration? You! haha.

I think I will get the mics and share it soon.

The other problem with this set is there is no mic for hi hat. I read that usually they use condenser mic to mic up the hi hat?

Haha I'm flattered.

If you're getting the mics you got drumset ? Or record at jamstudio? I can pop by to try it out at the same time share some drum miking with you in return.i saw this kmd7 a while back thought of trying out the cost efficiency

Well it's not exactly a "problem" because I myself only use 7 mics for drum recording. Just that ur overhead mics must be responsive enough to pick up both hat and crash.if that's the case I can also sell you the pencil condensor behringer c2 mic i have spare for cheap (I got 6!).bought at $110 per pair or you can get a new pair yourself.

For the drum, I can use my school's drum in the studio.

I think I will try using 7 mics first. Maybe when I got more cash, I'll get extra mics.
I will get back to you when I get the mics. Maybe can arrange some time to test the mic.

Thanks for your advise.

Yea do let me know when u get it.I'd like to test it n share results here from one of the best priced (for starting demo recordings) drum mic set I've seen so far apart from samson's
