Whammy bars and amp to recommend.

hey fellow softies, i'm buyin my first whammy bar and my budget's around 1000 and budget for amp's around 200. can anyone reccomend a good one and also what to look out for when buying. i've heard that ibanez's the leadin brand for whammys is that true? i wanna fiece shape like the xiphos haha i also don't mind if u wanna sell ur tube to me if its at mint con only. please guide thanks, much appreciated.

You mean tremolo bridge guitar is it? LOL.. Ibanez is good for that kind of stuff.. Amp I would recommended Fender frontman 25R or 15R.. they are good amp =)

I am not.. haha.. But Ibanez/Yamaha does have some good ones.. $1000 is alot for a guitar actually..

the part thats labeled tremolo is also called the whammy bar.

hmm most ibanez guitars have a floyd rose bridge. which is a type of whammy bar that makes u do some serious whammy tricks and all hahaha.
you can search it up on youtube for its features.

but as a first guitar, i wouldnt recommend having it. its an ass to maintain for starters.

anyway 1k is really alot. maybe get a guitar priced around $500. and use the other 500 or so for amps and effects too.

when you say whammy bar do you mean the Fender-type (on strats) or the Floyd Rose-style floating bridge?

For Fender type look at the Swing series in standard value or the Ibanez SA's.
For floating bridge..... Ibanez RG (should be the Edge 3 for models in your budget) or you could consider a second hand RG 550/570 or S5xx series (original Edge or lo pro edge bridge). They are out of production models though.

I used a JS100 before.. Can get around $500-$700.. Nice guitar.. or might wan to change the pickup to the dimaizio one.. Haha..

holy shit!! if fender is too lousy for shredding. why is malmsteen, dave murray, adrian smith all using fender shapes. hell they must be damn stupid!! esp malmsteen since he keeps like tonnes of fender strats in his studio!!

anyway, want a floating bridge guitar within 1k? u can try the ibanez s series. tried the edge iii, wasnt really stable. or u can look ard soft's 2nd hand market. plenty of floating bridge guitars floating ard there. but yea, i think its better if u spend more on ur amp. i'm regretting spending too little on my amp now.

So you have a budget of $1200 in total? Why not use this amount and get both items, instead setting a limit for each one.

IMHO 200 bucks for tube amp severely limits your choices. The only tube amp off hand that comes close to this price is the Vox AC4TV8 combo from City Music at $238. Even if this amp is within your budget, it may not be the amp you want.
