Warning: MLM, Sunshine Empire. etc2

You've seen them on the classified ads and probably went for their job interviews.

As of my personal experience, i went for the interview once and never came back. At first, it looked all legit, with the people in business suit walking here and there in an office space and set up little desks which they claim to be having discussions on market possibilities.

They even introduced me to the mastermind of scamming peoples money there! But all was good and i thought i had a job for the wait from O levels to results. Plus all of them working there are mainly my school mates so what could possibly go wrong?

Then i had a call from a friend of mine who've been through this kinda shit before. She went on and on and on about MLM but the firm statement was, DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THIS! Yeah well i didn't and practically she saved my ass.

MLM or multi level marketing are usually people who go on around ur homes, ur friends or whoever trying to sell a product by very extreme methods. The marketers have to pay for the product first to have the right to sell it and only once sold, they get their money back and their commission. But for the case of sunshine empire, it was heard that people go there, pay up front cash or deposits ranging from 4000 to 20000 sg dollars.

Sounds fishy ain't it? Yeah well not all of your money is returned and i heard that the company has closed down and all the assets freeze or smth but a new mlm of the same group emerges again trying to scam more people. i have 4 very close friends who fell victim to this and yes they tried to drag me into it but i know too well from my previous experience that this is something your right mind would tell "id rather place my money in a bank and earn little interest rather than a company that calls itself sunshine"

Worst thing is that all of my friends are students, poly students to be exact. So yeah people, do beware of this MLM and ANY MLM FIRMS in singapore. they're just out there to scam your money with fake ass products.

ps: didn't see this thread when i googled it on soft so if there is sorry in advance and probably one of the mods can lock it or smth.

Cheers everyone and have a great sunday!

I wrote a similar post on my experience with a particular MLM company about 2 years ago. You can do a quick search on the forum to see the post I created.

Do a search on hardwarezone EDMW forums and you can find a very long thread on Sunshine Empire. Very interesting read thou....

from my experience, my mom fell victim to one of them....

and with all the guarantees that the person told my mom about the product - which is some fake ass purifier water or something. The product now is leaking water like mad whenever we draw water from it, paid 120 dollars for the repair but the problem still persist...

there was once another MLM that called and persisted that they come to my house to demonstrate their product, willingly we gave in, wasted 2 hours of our lives demonstrating his product - which was a vacuum cum steamer or something, and it's priced RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE!

oh and the product that my mom bought cost also like 2k+ and adding a few hundred dollars i could've gotten a dehumidifier cum water dispenser. damn if only i was around before the deal was made.

they also promised us 2 days 1 night stay at the palace of the golden horses hotel in KL, a 6 star hotel if im not wrong... we called up yeah but lol nothing came up and it was said that the voucher was BOGUS....

personally im sick of the ways MLM try to sell their products... they use hard bargaining, drama, acting and sometimes friendship too like say a friend wants to introduce you to the company and say "eh brother brother ah come ah." then u have that sense of guilt when u don't follow through with it.

also this thread is to warn ignorant teenagers like myself and many other softies here... also expressing my personal views, u have a problem with it, then make a new thread about how great MLM products are and how great their ways in which they waste people time to sell their product. not to mention ways they try to scam people's money with it. My friends 20,000 dollars is still not yet given back to him. and he is only 17 years old.....

no malice intended, just the thought of helping people and expressing my own personal views..

cheers.

Multi-level marketing is a type of business. In any kind of business, there's a certain risk involved. The blatant truth about the kind of risk involved in MLMs is obvious - just that the commoner doesn't realise it. It's obvious that the person before you will make the money, and it's an ongoing cycle. This cycle itself is the business; you keep it moving.

Sunshine Empire? Well, I've seen with my own eyes the amount of cash people could make from it. Yet, at the same time, I've seen the amount of cash people could lose. Legally, this kind of business may not be right. For some, though, it can really mean wealth.

Other kinds of MLMs are those that deal with products. Some are crap, some are good, some are excellent. I'm not mentioning names, but if a company can survive for over 40 years, that company definitely has substance and reason to exist and call it a legit business which works.

At the end of the day, though, I agree that most of their methods are irritating (especially the product-based ones). Sometimes, it's actually the people that's the problem. That's another risk in itself for the businessman - to find the right person for the job. I would also warn against joining this kind of schemes without careful planning and research, though I'll not hammer the idea of "scam" into you like most of the HWZ EDMW posters.

MLM are legit companies but their business model is something I don't agree with. I got a friend who declared bankrupt after a few years with a mlm company.

aiyah whatever happens you can Sell Cookies On Your Blog (in reference to a certain someone. haha)

cookies nice what... brothers and sisters...

got alot of proponents of MLM, and fair enough, MLM itself is sound. but that is not to say that the people involved in MLM cannot abuse the system.

the problem now is that there is a lack of regulation in this sphere. insurance used to be a dirty industry until laws, regulations and the MAS stepped in to make sure that a legit practice remains safe.

it is difficult to regulate such an industry because the lines between this and a traditional business are blur. therein lies the whole weakness of the system; that the hazy distinctions between MLM and traditional businesses can be used as a form of deception, if the individuals practicing it are malicious.

so there is nothing wrong with MLM itself. but it is difficult to prevent corrupted people from reaching the public.

not everything can be analysed and rationalised, we are human beings because we have heart and we have emotion; people out there are getting conned... don't you think there is something wrong?

lets hope guitars never become an MLM business .. the temptation wud be too great

lolz,FGL bro. You wanna be the first to set up MLM guitar company? be the top earner and hold summit regularly. Do some solos to encourage your downlines to sell guitars, HAHA!

i nearly got myself involved with this company called lifestyle. my friend tried to lure me in then intro to this person la intro to that person then they tell me all the stuff i can enjoy get this get that then get commission don't know how many % la.. of course being an 18-year-old the lure of money was damn strong. but at the end of it all the person explaining to me said i had to pay a certain amount of money (can't remember how much but it was a rather big sum) and there's definitely alot of risk involved. i guess we cannot always be drawn in by the temptation of earning 'easy money' must learn to say no

lol... so yeah people... the poly holidays are here... the jc holidays are 1 week...

so if ur looking for any part time jobs, BE WARNED OF THEM MLM COMPANIES!

they take ur money and run away....

VENTURE ERA selling magnetic stuffs. LOL!

I almost fell into Venture Era's trap. I asked the staff who was briefing me, "How do you know these things work?" Her reply was, "Well, how do you know they don't? You haven't try you won't know" Right away I knew this was all bs.

But I stayed on for awhile more because it's not everyday you get to be in the room choke full of women in power suits!!
