I think a poll will give us a general feel of what softies feel about it, but I think there are also several underlying issues that a simple "it's good vs. it's not good" poll can't bring out. For me, to simplify and summarize, I think a general feel so far is most people don't like the idea, but those that do also have a valid reason (which is that it reduces the crowd). And I think generally, most people would agree on the $10 rebate idea which many have suggested already. That seems to be the general response I'm observing anyway :P
 
Hey. Can I double check. It is UP TO right not storewide 50% off right? Cause I don't want to pay $10 and go in to find my snare at 30 or 40% off. Can someone help me check out if jam blocks, cow bells and snares(especially 12" or 13" ) ones are at 50% off? If someone have that info please message me at 90218242. Cause I dun know how to walk from aljunied station!:(

Will be going early! Can help you check if you'd like. From Aljunied, you can walk along Sims Ave, then down Lor 17 Geylang, and then you'll be at Sims Drive. Just follow Sims Drive all the way and you'll be there. :)

if you desperately need to buy things from them , just pay the 10sgd and hope that it will justify the saving.

1 man hardly makes a difference, but I already did. Chose Craftsman over Squier.
And honestly, it's cheaper to ship the product I intended to buy all the way from USA than to buy it from sl. FML.

Wow again?$10 entrance fee?What's Swee Lee up to huh?Last sale also had this entrance fee,and I thought I'd link it up to payment for the in-house DJs.This time it's just a warehouse sale and there's still a $10 entrance fee?

And I gotta say.Reading what others said about the customer service in Swee Lee,I'm really disappointed.But then again,I always had a bad impression of SL,even though I have NEVER visited any of their outlets or even dealt with them in anyway whatsoever.This is generally due to the already degrading reputation of SL on S.O.F.T particularly.Somehow,besides Gibson and Fender,everyone seems to have a bad impression of SL.Which is why I skipped the previous sale,and will skip this one as well(if not only for the $10 entrance fee,which I find plain ridiculous.The reason being "to reduce crowd" is even more seemingly retarded.It's a warehouse sale.How much crowd do you want to reduce?To me,this is actually barring out poorer people who can't afford that $10 when they have saved enough only to get what they need.)

Edit:Oh yeah,btw.I totally disagree with SL calling it a sale when they raise the price of the goods higher than regular prices and then slashing off from THAT raised price.

It is really market dynamics. If people is sincere in making changes, they will take action.

Some people won't be bothered about 10sgd or should i say some won't be bothered about sales at all.
 
man, people dont get this.

this is a GAMBLE. nothing more. the potential savings inside are more than $10. if the stuffs available dont float your boat. then too bad. if the stock is finish, then too bad.

you dont hear people betting soccer matches go "wtf! i put my money when i dont even know the score yet!"

for me, its simple. go the day or a few days before see the shop layout see the things i want have anot.. though if actual day dont have, too bad for me. those who really want to buy will put the effort.

i camped in 2008 at 9pm on the day before cause i already set my eyes on what i want. those who yaya see what is there, then i dont recommend u go.

not all go in happy come out happy.

For this, you just need to make a small trip down a few days prior to the sale, you would have see all the items, or at least most of the items on sale.... wonder whats the big hoo har.. Why not blame yourself for being lazy?

Shoppin in City Music instead of SL is just two different thing altogether.. is City Music gonna give you a Gibson? Obviously shows that you do not even know what gear is your preference. At the end of the day, you are holding a guitar not because it suits your liking but because it have a Sale with a Free Entrance!! Wat Logic??

Btw. I just got myself a Gibson 2008 LP Premium for only $3.2k.... try getting the exact model in the US with all those shipping and see how much you get to save! Honestly speaking, would you even take a Bigger Risk for a guitar that gonna cost u three grand on an online shop? hmm. Not for me!
So bottom line, what is $10 when I get to slowly shop, slowly ask, slowly take my time to decide and I don even have to queue like an hour to make my payment. Plus the admission counter girl is DARN HOT!!! hahahhah.. SL really got taste in getting female staff!! ;)

Anyway, my personal belief is I trust my taste in the things I buy and I don't let any other influences of any sort makes me feels otherwise. Especially over a measly $10 charge!!! I thought only third world mentality shows that!!! ahhaha...

And I get a little door gift at the end of my shopping trip! Hmm.. nothing too big but hey, it sure still feels good to have a little surprise!

Sunny: Agreed. Those hoohaa go city music cause of entrance fee really dont have anything particular in mind. They just wanna save money. for me, (unfortunately), the product I wanted only SL carry, so bo pian. You want the gear, why compromise for $10. I'd rather risk my $10 then live with regret not paying it and getting the 2nd (or 3rd or 4th...) choice.

STILL, I'D RATHER SWEELEE NOT HAVE THE TEN BUX CHARGE. haha.
