Hey all. I'm steven, 21, and I have an interesting proposition for all you prospective drummers out there. But first, let me explain my goal. I'm not too experienced in music theory, and probably won't be able to help you there. HOWEVER, I have been playing the drums for almost 8 years now. I played in singapore, back in secondary school, then played in the UK when I had to study there for a while, and I play with my band presently. I have experience in most genres (other than jazz and salsa related stuff), especially in rock/hard rock/all types of metal except for black. I'm especially well versed in playing songs in odd-time signatures.
Now, all this may be unimpressive, but I can guarantee you that I will teach you how to play the drums the way you want to play it. You want to be a rock drummer? I'll teach you a myriad of beats, fills, and styles that you can incorporate in any rock song. You want to be a metal drummer? I'll teach you a variety of metal chops and beats that you can use to personalize any metal song you play. I won't spend any time talking about the theories, notes, or music sheets (I'll still teach you what you need to know about rudiments/chops/time signatures/fills etc, obviously). I will focus on teaching you how to cover songs from various genres, as well as familiarize you with the thought processes that are necessary to write the drum parts for original songs. In short, if you want to learn how to play fast, I'm your guy.
