Want to know more about fender stratocaster, pls help!!!!

Hey dude wanna check with you is it normal that on a fender american standard strat, the metal plate at the back of the guitar, which is the one connect the body and the neck of the guitar, is a bit tilted? As in it is not perfectly placed, a bit tilted, is it normal ?

Hmm this could mean that there's a shim in the neck pocket. Meaning that someone put like a piece of paper or something like that to raise the neck abit.

It's usually done when the action of the guitar is more disproportional than normal, ie. action at higher frets alot higher than action at lwoer frets.

hey dude thanks for your reply, could you please give me your email n I could send the pics to you! Could you please help me to check it?

Hey dude,

Dun mind me, I just want to make sure that my first strat is a real one but not a fake!!!
What you mean is the the guitar got no problem with it right?

tell you what. do yourself a favour and buy a brand new Fender American Standard, open it up and do the necessary research. That way you can be 100% sure.

in any case, original Fender parts are easy to tell. There are neck stamps, signature routing marks and indications stating that states whether it's original or not. if you are so paranoid about buying 2nd hand, buy first hand. your budget is $1600 just top up a little more and get an American Standard.

If this one is real, why would I spend more money on the same thing? No offense, just want to make sure that my first strat is a real one!

It's fake. Go buy a new one. :)

No offense, don't mind us, but it seems like unless someone says "I guarantee it's real, if it's not I'll buy you a real one", or something to that effect, nothing less is going to satisfy you. So just go buy a new one.

Unless you are looking at buying a vintage Fender than yes, you have to be particular about every single detail as they all add up to the total amount. This is just an American Standard. Based on those pictures (which is more than enough) how wrong can you get really?

even if that guy changes the pickups, how expensive do you think a set of American Standard pickups are worth?

I do not worry abt the pickups, what I worry about is that the guy may take out an american standard neck then fit it onto a squire body!!!
Since the neck plate is already slanted, that's why all me concerns come!

ask him open and let u see the insides lo. it's not a crime what.

then again, open also you don't know how to tell. just do yourself a favour and buy brand new la. still can choose the best out of the lot. you are the kind of person who will buy a 2nd hand guitar & sell it after 3 months cos you are so anal about everything. got ding here la, scratch there la. just buy brand new la seriously.

OP so scared to buy new because no money, scared to buy second hand because may be fake, don't buy at all lar. Save yourself the gan cheong spider-ness. FWIW all my guitars are bought second hand. None of them are new from a shop. Better yet, my own Fender Deluxe Strat was bought blind off TGP.
