wanna ask about pickups

Hey softies, i was wondering if anyone can tell me if those built in pickups like those found in acoustic- electrics will be able to pick up tapping sounds on the guitar. For example songs like more than words etc? and if i plug it in to record will it be recorded in?

from my experience, yes

problem with standard pickups on such guitars they're usually USTs, under the saddle which means they pick up really just stuff around the saddle area...

if you want taps/percussive stuff to come out, your best bets would be magnetic humbucking pickups like the Baggs M1 or SBTs like the K&K which attach to the soundboard so they pick up the whole body.. they do sound more like mic-ed up guitars compared to USTs.
