its easy to read theory, but hard to memorise, even harder to play it!!

agreed ... but after a while you'll get used to it lah .. you got the book "Walking Bass Lines" by Ed Friedland? i have it and i thought it's extremely useful in learning how to walk ..

eh think i have tt book too, but got bogged down halfway heh... think shall work on some simpler styles before i go back there...

'crawling...'

i don't know if it applies to you guys but i can walk basic jazz (II-V-I and other variations) in c major relatively okay but i can't walk for nuts on other scales...

Hmm, try Chromatic, diatonic scale and chord tone.

I think not only walking the notes but the timing and accent will make a different.
Not to ignore the "rest" note.
2-5-1 is a cool basic jazz progression.

In key of G the chords are Am7 D7 Gmaj.

Cheers,

Ben
