what's your budget?

Some are getting good results with their Modified Vox 847A. I'm also biased with a Budda BudWah... really nice vocal wah but it's not that cheap.

i think i read somewhere that he uses a crybaby classic.

the dunlop slash signature wah is just a crybaby classic with optional distortion

The Dunlop Slash signature wah sounds really good , but i heard rumours that he actually uses an RMC wah in the studio .

I still prefer the my wah though

you can read an article on analogman's page....http://www.analogman.com/mccoy.htm

The particular line is here "Slash (While a DUNLOP endorsee, Slash has used an old RMC3 in videos) "

Anyways it isnt uncommon for most artistes to experiment in the studio. Joe Satriani uses a Dunlop 535Q, Budda Wah as well as an RMC Wizard Wah. He is a Dunlop endorsee too. I guess Dunlop has alot of moolah to support all these endorsement deals, even when artistes dont necessarily use their wahs at all.

The wah is a very personal thing....there is no sure way of getting another person's sound by getting a signature wah. More about how you tweak your tone and the way you play it that matters. My advice is go give all of them a whirl and see what you like.

The main thing i like about the Slash wah is the sleek hot rod red finish...sure is one heck of a sexy good-looking wah. The not so good thing i've heard from friends who've owned it is it takes some time to tweak, cant be modded (cos circuit board is SMD) and the distortion circuit in it is almost drop-dead useless. It also has to be powered at 18v for it to run at optimal headroom, although i heard that it works fine with a 9v onespot adapter.
