Wah pedals

Isit really necessary to get an expression pedal to with it?
Or can I just plug it in directly into my pedalboard without the exp pedal?

most guitar-wahs, or more specifically, filters, are expression pedals by itself. there are some filters which require an expression pedal eg the frostwave resonator, moogerfooger low pass filter.

but still, i won't recommend getting a guitar wah. it will cut off the low end. if u really need to rock out on one, dunlop has a bass wah which is available in davis.

your typical wah pedal is an expression pedal. there are also other kinds of filter effects like auto wahs that function without the expression pedal, but may have an expression pedal input so that you can manually control the wah.

Dude, you think I would have reacted in such a uncivilised manner if that guy didn't spoke like I knew everything in the world and only made this thread for fun?

How on earth was my question "Have you played one?" speaking like you know everything in the world and making this thread for fun?

You started the thread asking if a wah pedal needs an expression pedal, so I presum you know what an expression pedal is, how it looks like and what it does.

If you spent less effort of starting a thread and waiting for people to reply you, googling or using the image search you would have gotten this:
http://images.google.com.sg/images?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&channel=s&hl=en&source=hp&q=wah%20pedal&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi

Looking at all those pictures should be able to answer your question shouldn't it?

LOL, LOOKING AT THOSE PICTURES.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.

So if a newb happens to see pictures of Wah Pedals.
They would know straight away that you do/don't need to get a expression pedal seperately? Especially for the Boss Wah pedal that has an expression pedal input in it? You think I'm so smart to figure out with 0% knowledge on pedals?

Besides, I wasn't only directing my attention for help ONTO you. So don't come and change the story that I'm being sensitive and stuff like that. Look at how others reply and look at HOW you reply. At least, I dare to admit that I'm a newbie and I came here to learn. Isn't this what this forum is for? For all musicians to discuss or seek help about musical related stuff?

Oh and btw, I did search for Wah pedals in the Google Image search.
But unlike you I don't have the "Super Image Interpreting Skills" that you posses worhhxczxcxzcxx.

P/S: I don't think I have done anything wrong except asking for help.
P/S: And don't think just cause your a lao jiao in bass or anything you can act like your speaking sense. In actual fact, you sound like a moron. No offense and DONT presume. I also can PRESUME that you were blatantly insulting me right from the start, right?
