an alternative recommendation: Ibanez SZ320

how is this recommendation parallel to your wants? the SZ model is every bit Les Paul-like except that it's a dual cutaway guitar as oppossed to the LP's singlecut design. in my books, the SZ is one of the best Korean set neck unit in the market.

pictured above are the SZ in 2 finishes- the MH being a lacquerless version of the model. the SZ does not represent the skinny necked Ibanez RG, in fact it's a departure from that design philosophy.

i'm not trying to convert you into buying the SZ but it's a very good guitar per se. in all fairness, try all the guitars recommended here & go with your likes. the default pickups is a love/ hate experience. the sad part is, it exceeds your $600 limit... but chances are it won't exceed $790 8)

who's gonna use the guitar? juz wondering..if its a girl..hmm..can u withstand heavy load on your shoulder?..no offence..but i tink material and weight is one thing to consider..i myself got body ache after strapping myself with my gibson LP for nearly 2 hours..

they say the epi lp 100 is alot lighter, so is the cort lp copies.

Back Problems

Used to like heavy guitars like Gibson. Until had back and neck problem. Had to switch to Fender instead. What to do? Only can carry so much.

Hi Dreampolice,

I do have a 2nd hand Ibanez RG270 in the shop if you're interested. It's in mint condition. Has been re-setup. The only problem which you might have is the changing of strings as it uses a Floyd Rose Bridge.

Problem with Floyd Rose Bridge

A Floyd Rose bridge take about 1 hr+ to set up properly. You'll have to unscrew a lot of stuff and re-screw to set it up. Adjusting the springs can be a pain as well.

Advantages, Your strings will stay in tune permanantly after they are seasoned. When you use the tremolo arm the strings will stay in tune also.

However, once the string breaks, all of them will go out of tune. And to change the strings again is a problem.

If you're looking for a full clean tone, I do have a Hand-made guitar which is also within your budget.
