Vox Pathfinder 10 problem

Hi everyone, i have just purchased a Vox Pathfinder 10 from Japan and now i'm experiencing some problems wih it.

At first it ran okay. I had to use an adapter to convert the plug from the japanese type (2 slits) to singapore two pin. Turned it on and it was fine.

Afterwards I disconnected the Vox to plug in another amp to play. When i tried turning on my Vox again it wouldn't turn on. Could this be a blown fuse or something? I've triple checked and it definitely isn't my power outlet problem. The cable is built into the amp so i can't change it myself. According to the information at the back of the amp, the amp is 100V ~ 50/60Hz 15 Watts

Would appreciate suggestions on what to do, thank you. :???:

i think you have just blown something..

Singapore household supply is 230v 50hz. That amp is for japan supply, thus that 100v rating.

The correct procedure, is to use a step down transformer, to step down the 230v supply from our socket outlet, to 100/110v and power up the amp.

Anyway, dont try to power up anymore. You will just keep pumping double the amount of voltage that will power up the amp. That is major overload. Look for amp tech/search round the forum, bring the amp to them, check if anything can be done...

remember next time, any gear bought overseas and non battery operated, do check for the power spec and see if theres a need to use stepdown transformer.

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply.

I should have checked the operating voltage first. Argh stupid me! I hope i just blew a fuse and not anything else. Any suggestions as to where I should bring my amp down to for repair, possibly in peninsular plaza? I need to get that amp working asap
