VOX COOLTRON PEDALS

i have the bulldog distortion...this pedals owns...i can get lots of cool distortions from it...hard to say but u have got to try it..its some-what more of a rectifier kind of distortion..the first distortion is more classic like a marshall jcm...the second distortion..(when activated) is a monster...sounds so thick..i can easily get lots of foo fighter and nickelback tones(basically grunge) from it...only thing is that its much better with an adapter..this pedal eats batteries like a bulldog eating dinner...and its thru-bypass..

Hi Charles, how does it compare with the other tube od/dist in the mkt? Have u compared them with say the radial tube pedals or wat? Wat amp u use it with? Oh n how much u paid?

lastly, any idea if the clipping is within the tube or diodes? I heard that indyguitarist said the tonebones r diode clipping, the tube just warm the signal.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

bulldog distortion eh?

Is it capable of warm overdrive tones in your opinion?

How about comparisons with other big names of this sort in the market?

Such as sansamp stuff, visual sounds stuff?

Thanks for your responses guys.

to answer wehit's question...i think its also the diode clipping..but the idea of cooltron is that it has 12AU7 tubes...which is low wattage tubes...thus "cooltron"...and whether how it compares to other Distortion pedals actually depends on whether if u like the tone... and this pedal has enough gain and sustain that u don't really need an overdrive pedal...also the pedal is loud...made my microcube sound like a cube 15...lol..seriously..u have to test it out to know for yourself..
