Volume pedal Shoot out (Tech Talk)

Hi people. I'm still looking to buy a volume pedal which

Firstly -> Doesnt affect tone (Tone Suck)

Secondly -> Nice leg feel when placed on pedal face plate

Thirdly -> Not too expensive and not too cheap

Below is a list of volume pedals i'm looking at although the Price for Telonics is way above the budget. If anyone has suggestions and good inputs/advice to share or even suggest new volume pedals not in the list. And do enlighten me on whether an active or passive Volume pedal is better? Do share! Thanks in advance. Cheers people!

Ernie Ball regular size and Jr. size
Boss - current model volume Pedal
Dunlop VP-1
Goodrich 120
Goodrich H10K active model
Telonics Multi-Taper volume pedal
Hilton active volume pedal
George Dennis mono volume pedal

my hilton makes everything sound better. Hahaha. There is a noticeable difference between it and say a boss fVl. Definitely worth the price I paid.

Thanks for sharing! Is the Hilton good for volume swells? How's the feeling of the foot placement action? And it really does make the tone nicer? I'm amazed! Nah I'm not looking into the boss volume pedals. It's too brittle.

I say Ernie Ball VP Jr. and the price is just about right for a volume pedal. Mark Knopfler still uses one to this day. ;)

Some players complain of tone suck but I personally dont hear any difference and its currently the 4th last pedal on my board, I have no complaints. I didnt use any buffer along the way either. The only problem I would say is that the string will break after sometime and changing it is going to be a hassle. I use it solely for volume swells and it sounds great.

Was on the search for one a couple of months back myself. Get a Ernie Ball MVP. Or you can mod your VP jr too. I love my jhs modded vp jr, some guys here do it locally. Do note that adding a buffer in front of your chain may also affect the sound of certain types of fuzzes, other than that it does restore quite a bit of high end into your signal. cheers!

Another recommendation to add on the list - Mission Engineering VM-Pro. Definitely nice for swells, goes easy on the fuzz pedals and of course lighter on the wallet as well.
