vol pedal question

is there a no-frills pedal which offers a different volume level at the stomp of a switch?

so i can go from a rolled off volume pseudo clean to dirt easily, without screwing up on a regular volume pedal or knob.

The boost knob is a variable volume and gain knob when placed behind a drive pedal.

2 mono jacks, different values of resistors, some hook up wires

mount all of the above components into the project box

wire stuff together
instant 2 vol switch = full bypass or through resister ( lower vol )

sorry i should clarify, i just want a lower volume option alike rolling off the volume pot.

ratboy: sounds cool, but i have zero knowledge on those kind of stuff. i think ill want something with a volume pot so i can adjust the amount of volume cut.

the only disadvantage i can think of is the inability to get that fecking cool effect of increasing gain as the input volume rises.

should i just get a volume pedal? haha.

Actually, if you really have trouble on your guitar volume knob (always accidentally hit it), you can just switch the position of the knob with the tone knob. Just move the pots and the knobs around.

no, its the problem of judging the wanted volume/input by ear. cant really do it quickly and accurately.

ratboy's idea should be have they exact same effect as simpling rolling off the volume right?

His idea seems to be basically toggling between one volume and another. If you put it right after your guitar, it would be similar to switching you guitar volume knob from one setting to another instantaneously.

Learning how to gauge the volume by ear and using the volume knob can be a difficult skill to learn, but it has its rewards - you can get a greater palette of tones.

mattleesc, i think you don't need that extra pedal.

Note, that some volume pedals allow you to set your minimum vol level...

Just use ur vol knob lah... hahaha... thats good enough. Change the pot to a taper you like.
