Vocal Hangout!

My oh my, despite the fact that the event is soooo the last minute and my co-organizer (the famous Sage) was busy with recording - I must say that it was pretty much a success!

Omigosh, I felt so honoured to be among pure talents like the ones I met yesterday! No bullshit! :D

Honestly, I felt apprehensive about the really varied mix of ages, from below 20 to above 40 but I am really glad that the people who turned up yesterday were genuinely (very) nice people with amazing talent and experience!

Ok, here are the fantastic singer/musicians who turned up yesterday, in no particular order -

FGL (singer/guitarist)
Tetragrammaton (singer guitarist)
Tetragrammaton's friend (donno whether fellow softie) (singer)
LobinHoot (singer/drummer)
gracepoh (singer)
fahmy (not his nick) (I think bassist, cant remember cos he's v shy )
ariel (singer)

In the short three hours of karaoke-ing, I totally enjoyed listening and singing along to everything from golden oldies to 80s rock to movie soundtracks to Indo rock to current Top 40s hits.

Just too bad that some songs didn't appear (next time we find a better place with a better sound system eh?).

After that, it was more chill time at Actor's Bar where I saw FGL ROCK the stage with his energetic singing and fantastic guitar playing. Too bad Tetragrammaton was a bit 'high', so didn't have the opportunity to catch him doing his licks. And LobinHoot and Ariel - next time must go up and sing on stage k? Don't be shy lah, you guys are very good singers lah! Too bad Grace couldn't join us - otherwise, she'd be mobbed by her new fans (I'm the biggest one) on stage man! Hehehehe...

So, overall - it was very fun and we met our objectives, that is getting to know fellow singer/musicians in Soft and just chill and enjoy both the musical (singing and performing) and non-musical (having drags, eat murtabak and prata) experience.

So, thanks again to those wonderful people I met yesterday.

Next outing - SAC!

Hecklerkoch - OUT!

Yes it was cool meeting all the talented musicians. We learnt a lot from each other. The fact that we had karaoke first was great. Give us all a warm up before going to actors to perform. May be we should have this double ktv+open mic hang out, like a regular thing.

Actors is a good place to practice. Practice makes perfect

BIRTHDAY = HECKLERKOH'S TREAT FOR ALL ... YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it 20 May holiday or something ...
All right man!! You're treating Heckler? So have decided or not Pulau Ubin or Sentosa. If Pulau Ubin that'll be Coconut cocktail I guess, can also lah. Hehehe...!! If Sentosa...it'll be a plenty.

Well, the next Public Holiday is Vesak Day which falls on the 19th of May(Monday). I don't think it's gonna be another PH on the 20th.

Hehehehe...!!!

Saluti!

Ok next one next one!! Where, when and who's organising?

Khai has a great idea on opening another vocal hangout with lesson exchanges. Think anyone who wants to give vocal advice and stuff and talk to the rest about it might wanna start volunteering now so he can prepare by June.

Meanwhile, anyone planning the next singing session? :D I wanna catch the fantabulousness of yes-yesterday's singers~

Grace xiaomei says she wants to organize the next one at SAC, FGL/Tetra/websitedesigner/LobinHoot I think like the whole karaoke+stage+makan/chilling out thingie. Me too.

I think there'll be the usual two camps lah - one camp will probably want the sharing and tips session and the other camp will probably be content with singing and chilling out and talk cockadoodledoo cos probably they shy lah.

I'm fine with both but I am more of a listener than a yakkety yak guy.

The mysterious Ankh was also there but only at Actors. But too bad, we already left by the time he's there around 1.45 a.m.

Grace sang beautifully and so does Hecklerkoch. Of course non other than Fgl, who does his guitar solo with his teeth at Actors! Splendido!! Lobinhood a true rocker sang well too!! Ariel with his Indonesian band influence sang Peterpan songs....I'm floating suddenly!! Nice people and nice singers all of them!!

Saluti to all that rock!!
