you are like asking us to compare nokia phones with samsung phones without telling us the exact model numbers.
anyway, rg model numbers are too confusing, machiam handphone model numbers. ltd h series not that confusing.
What's your budget. If you not going for prestige rg models. You're better off with s series or a ltd
Basswood is soft, kinda like Alder. Alder is used in making Fenders.
Mahogony is used in making Gibsons. Mahogony is very heavy and gives a very bassy sound. (At least to me)
yeah, I agree with that statement. at least for the current line of RG models (unless you are referring to the souped up ones like the RGT6EX or something which doesn't lie within the friendly price range anymore)
I heard basswood very easy dent? Saw some guy said in a forum tt if basswood banged into mahogany, the basswood will dent and the mahogany will almost nt sustain and damages...true? And i thought basswood wil give more bassy sound?
Lols...the 1k plus ibanez rg nt good ar?
well, there is a difference . in terms of tone maybe not much though. prestige guitars are also near the $1k mark so I would rather you save a little more for a more stable trem.
lols...the prestiges i saw were all near 2k-3k...i tink i will save up for a prestige rg if its really arnd 1k plus.... Anyway...wad abt the ltd horizons/h series(I'm looking at the H-351FR)...are they good? Nobody's been talking bout em....
And i thought basswood wil give more bassy sound?
the perpetual misconception: basswood = bassy because there's 'bass' in there right? so rightfully, rosewood should be a rosy type of wood...
Lols...no la...i saw people using basswood body guitars on youtube...sound very bassy le...
hmm... Satriani's Ibanez is basswood, he doesn't sound bassy...
tried but i can't hear that bassy signature from Petrucci- his guitar is basswood...
even Paul Gilbert's baswood isn't bassy, in fact, it's crunchy...
so what is going on here? why aren't basswood guitars bassy? grrr....
