Value For Money Cymbal Deals SG.

i've played some staggs when I was in Melbourne....man, they sound HORRIBLE! I would rather play the first generation Trojans over them.....

I played both the SH and DH series. To me they really lacked body. The cymbals are either too focused on the higher frequencies or the lower end....almost nothing in between.

Stagg... i think the general consensus to it is:

Another bad sounding cymbal with not so good marketing here and just some nice logos...

saw and heard some at JS music.. man they are awful.. dunno what series were those.. but im definately not putting money to it...

i've never heard of STAGG either lol. eh so who's going for the thomas lang masterclass?

anyway drumsbait, drum resources is it? or one of the big timers lah.

Stagg

Ya DH and SH are their lowest end series.
Hope they bring in at least the Classic series (which is the range reviewed by modern drummer)
Me too haven't tried the Staggs but love their colour finishes and logo
The dealer has their own sponsored forum in soft. Better to let them announce themselves

wow so power. man i cant wait to test out the stagg.. to see how good or how lousy. my ears will do the talking to me.. haha

My Opinion is -

True VALUE-FOR-MONEY Cymbals...will never be Manufacturer Brands (brands like Paiste, Zildjian, Sabian etc)...in Mass-Production and where marketing Cost eg Advertising is so.ooooo high.

True Value For Money Cymbals are ----- most of the cases - Hand Hammered Cymbals eg Bosphorus, Turkish, MasterWorks etc.....they are cheaper VALUE FOR MONEY....

How I define Value For Money is...Price you paid vs Sound you get = Value for money...so.oooo as an example - - - If I pay a Bosphorus Ride for S$300 and I pay a paiste for S$800 - if the Paiste sound is not Twice as good as my Bosphorus...then Bosphorus is Value for money in this case.

Hand-Hammered are usually value for money in many cases...

Also, while we're at this....please note that our line of Turkish Cymbals are of the highest quality. The series that I've brought in and will be bringing in are their top of the line models. I've heard too many people comparing my Turkish with box sets from other turkish made cymbals....these are not box set cymbals!
