Using Japan Pedals in Singapore

Hi Softies

I need your advice on the above matter.

I recently bought a vintage (I believe) pedal from Japan. However, it uses 100v power supply. We are using 230v here in Singapore.

What are my options?
a) buy a step-down transformer
b) modify to make it usable here

I bought a 230-110v transformer. The shop owner explained that it is ok to use for the pedal. Electronic products can work within 10% range difference of the power supply. I'm not too sure about this.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Just some background information; I have checked Mustafa Centre, Sim Lim Square and Sim Lim Tower but they don't carry 230v to 100v transformer. One shop has 100v transformer 500watt, a bit too much for my purpose... It is also rather bulky though.
