:cool:I am planning to travel for 2 weeks in June and the first thing on my mind was....HOW CAN I STOP PRACTISING FOR 2 weeks!

On my way home, I was thinking..Is there such a thing as a USB piano or something? I will have my laptop with me.

I came back and searched on the Internet and WOW! WOW! There's such a thing! *excited* Does it work well, anyone knows? Where can I buy one in Singapore? Anyone has a used one for sale? (I've a tight budget:()

You can try carrefour at suntec city if i'm not wrong there's the piano mat similar to the usb :D

i've seen similar kbs in carrefour, plaza sing too!

but dunno if it's 88 keys kind

it's not too pricey, ard 38?? if i rem correctly..

but the last time i went back to check (abt a month?) i couldn't find it..

Even if you get it, it will defeat the purpose of training your touch.

If you're staying in a hotel with a piano available, you can ask if they would allow you to practice on it. I did it before. They happen to have one in a small function room. They let me use it when there's no function, which is every night when I was there.

I'm gonna travel soon too. Unfortunately, the hotel I'm putting up at has only 2 pianos at public areas, so they won't let me use them.

I dunno why the same hotel at another country would gladly move the piano into a function room for me, but not this one.

If you have no access to a piano, just bring a bunch of chord spellings to memorise. :D

Yea, I understand what you mean. I am now so used to practising everyday, so I hope to carry on and not break the wonderful momentum ~~2 weeks can be a long time, 1 hour x 14 days = 14 hours!! (sometimes I practise for less than an hour, sometimes more..usually more)

I am shy about playing the hotel piano..I just started learning (not even a month yet) and haha....you know what I mean :p I doubt there'll be one anyway.

Chord spellings? I prefer to let my fingers do the memory work :p

What's there to be shy about? I'm sure they won't let you play in the hotel lobby or lounge.

You just have to tackle questions like
1. OOOOOoooohhh....are you a famous concert pianist?
2. Are you here for a recital/performance?
3. Hiromi Uehara???!!! Can I have your autograph please?! (joking!)

I found it on Toy R Us's website but it is really like a toy. $59.90..too expensive as a temporary substitute. Will check out Suntec soon.
