USA-Made DIMARZIO® IBZ Pickups

I don't remember exactly but the last time I owned a guitar with IBZ pups was a Maxxas. Killer guitar...very nice pups. Shouldn't have sold it.

I can't say that 99% of time when I talk about 99% of the newer Ibanez and other DiMarzios.

Dude, you owned a maxxas?!?!?!!?

OH CRAP.

I wanted to try one SO BADLY!!!

Oh, abt the pups, older ibanez stock pups were much much better apparently.

Just to let you know, these Dimarzio/IBZ are actually made in Dimarzio factory. They are real dimarzios but each with different sound characteristics as compared to the other so called Real Dimarzios like Tone Zone, Breed, Fred, Paf Pro and so on. Most of them that owned Prestige guitars with these pickups love them. Very likely that you will like them too. Try for a few months first before you decide on anything. You may like them as well

lol sometimes stock pups can be good as well. take herman li from Dragonforce for example.....His stuff just come straight from the shelf. 8)

He did say he might change the pups now and then but the guitar he played, the prestiege, and only that prestiege (since he only mentioned it) has stock pups.

I've read he uses a Tonezone and what, air norton?

In anycase, my point isn't about the Dimarzio/Ibanez pups being bad , or good. Its about how we should approach tone as a personal idea, a unique view from one's perception of tonal widdle wee woo-ness, not as "because xxx uses it, it definately rocks".

Don't forget, a pup's tone is only 1 part of the equation, its also how it feels/reacts to your playing that matters.
